Channel your inner child

Curiosity is one of the greatest ways to approach route planning and the komoot map has a hidden layer that goes a long way to help.

When customizing a route you've found on the map or planning one from scratch, tap into the search bar or on the magnifying glass to see a menu bursting with possibilities and extra information.

“I-spy with my little eye”

Check the ‘Natural sights’ box to see beautiful places spring up on the map and add them into your route.

“Do you have a snack?”

Be more child: Check the ‘Food and drink’ box to see cafes, picnic spots, and other tasty places appear on the map.

“Can we play kings and queens?”

Okay, no need to dress up, but when you check ‘Points of interest’ you’ll find everything from fortifications and historical sites to ridges and monuments.

“But I need to go NOW”

The menu also features ‘Public toilets’ because when you gotta go, you gotta go. Remember to top up your hydration though, by checking the ‘Public water fountains’ box.

“Will there be swings?”

On family adventures, check the ‘For the kids’ box to see play parks you can add into your route. This box also displays animal parks and mini golf so perhaps that box should read ‘For your inner kid.’
